From a fan from long ago...back from the days at Univ of SC where Hootie & the Blowfish played cover songs at Green Street's and frat parties, etc... way to go. Love it! I have missed hearing you. Keep it up. Go Gamecocks! ;->

I sing Country, and have had requests for "Hootie" so I listened. I thought to myself, "this guy could do well in country with some steel & fiddles". And he did.
I'm especially pleased because it shows that real talent can cross genres.
I congratulate him on his efforts and hope to hear more of him.
Mo,
Arizona

I love this song, and I so hope he will release a whole CD of country songs. All I can say is, who knew? Love it!

5 out of 5 stars Song of the unknown singer blew me away   July 11, 2008
Patricia L. Grove (Rothschild, WI United States)
I just heard this song on a country station earlier tonight, and had no idea who sang it, but it practically had me crying in the car. I simply put in the title here on Amazon, and was amazed to discover it was Mr. Rucker! I've always admired his voice and he sounds totally at home in this genre. I'll be buying the album when it comes out. Welcome to country, Darius!

Excellent song! Never thought of Darius as having a country side but he totally pulls it off. I hope this leads to a country CD. Rock on Darius.
