Enya's "Amarantine" is a disappointing song that pales in comparison to the Irish New Age diva's previous efforts. Enya sings in Loxian,an Elven language she created with her producer Roma Ryan (why not Tolkien's Sindarin or Quenya? He spent years creating it) "Amarantine" is what one expects of a typical New Age song. It has a pleasant instrumental,perfect for the background of an eco-spa. Enya's singing is beautiful as usual,but the lyrics fall waaay short. The refrain is the sappy "love is love is love is." I wouldn't be surprised if this saccharine song were used at wedding ceremonies.
"Amarantine" is all about love. Sadly,it isn't loveable.
