Sounds like the rocky California coast - not tropical March 12, 2008

Amazing how complicated it is to find an "ocean sounds" clip. I was really looking for a "Hawaiian" or "tropical" ocean sound. The preview slip doesn't reveal that there are seagulls in the background in some parts. The ocean sounds nearby and you also hear the wind in palm trees. It sounds like it was recorded near a tidepool on a rocky shore due to the way the waves splash/crash. Occasionally you'll hear a buoy bell. This all leads you to feel like you're at a Northern California coast (I'm from there).
I don't listen to this one on hi-fidelity audio, so I can't comment on the audio quality. However, the position of the recording clearly images the listener as if camping on a rocky shore very close to the water, as opposed to being "up the hill".
The recording is relaxing as intended so it works. But I'm still looking for the Hawaiian sounds.
