This song is garbage created with the only purpose of making money! The lyrics are mediocre when you compare them to early work such as "se quiere se mata" or "octavo dia." You might feel lucky to hear Shakira in English but these songs are nothing compared to the Spanish songs she used give us before she started making songs for $$$. You mentioned reggae? Well, try "Un poco de amor."

"Hips don't lie" is a guilty pleasure tune. Colombian diva Shakira collaborates with reggae legend Wyclef Jean in a jaunty little dance song. The song is as substantial as a cream puff. It isn't serious and shouldn't be taken that way. It's Latin pop lite. "Hips don't lie",and to tell the truth, they're fun.

Mediocre production, (barely) adolescent lyrics. I guess this is what passes for bubble-gum music in the 00's.
