Annoyin' Me March 28, 2008 Amaranth (Northern California) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Nickelback's "Savin' Me" has every musical cliche about redemption possible. Chad Kroeger successfully recycled the themes of this song when he later collaborated with Carlos Santana in "Into the Night." However, "Savin' Me" doesn't have cool electrifying Latin rock riffs. It's a bland,by-the-numbers song. It's turgid. If you want to be sonically saved, go somewhere else.
Save Me from This Song... It's HORRIBLE! March 27, 2008 Flap Jackson (State Road, NC) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Driving home today, within in the span of twenty minutes, I heard this song being played 3 times, on 3 different radio stations, 2 started 30 seconds apart from each other. The point is, no way a song like this has that kind of staying power. First off, when I first heard the song I was annoyed to death. I was like, SAVE ME FROM THIS SONG! IT'S ON RADIO ALL THE TIME!
The lyrics? What the heck do they mean? The structure? Hardly original, and probably the most unoriginal thing of the year. Vocals? Yes, Chad has had much better days. Annoyingness factor? Off the friggin' chart.
Overall, Nickelback has made some stinkers, but this one takes the cake, by a mile! Really people, just when you thought modern rock couldn't get much worse, along came a Nickel...
