Going Going Gone (but Hanging On) April 10, 2008 Amaranth (Northern California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Led Zeppelin's front man, Robert Plant famously collaborated with folk diva Alison Krauss on "Raising Sand." The Grammys, sadly, largely snubbed them. Luckily, this song won the honor of a Grammy. It was deserving. "Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)" is a boisterous, exuberant.... breakup song. Instead of bemoaning the end of a relationship, it cheerfully waves "good riddance" to a treacherous partner. There's the refrain of "done me wrong",but there's neither angst nor anger. There's a whole lotta love for loss. "Gone gone gone" is a song with staying power!
love it! February 12, 2008 A. Cryst (Unionville, VA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a really fun song. I'm not a big Plant or Krauss fan, but this song just makes me feel good when I hear it. It's got a fun beat, the vocals are good and it's pretty short, but there's just something about it that catches the attention. It's really different from the rest of the album. I just bought this one song & downloaded to my ipod.
Still a good song, 43 years later December 3, 2007 George Howell (Montgomery, Alabama United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This song was written and performed first by the Everly Brothers around Christmas 1964. It reached #31 and stayed on the charts for 2 weeks back then. I liked it better by the Everlys.
Two of my favorite artists- one of my favorite songs! November 23, 2007 Michael Weber (Coast 2 Coast) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Alison Krauss' voice is from heaven. Robert Plant plays from the gut. Gone, Gone, Gone is their blues rock anthem.
