5 out of 5 stars Colbie captures the essence of simple excitement!   May 3, 2008

From a musician that has played, classical complex, to Jazz Band in college, to Blues to Country, I had to share my wonderful thoughts about this song and respond to those who seem to be less musically rounded. Colbie is a breath of fresh air and definitely captures the essence of simple excitement. With Bubbly, she takes you on a journey that just makes you feel good. Listen to her Bubbly acoustic set on You Tube "on Stephanies Stage". In this small setting she had an amazing reaction to this song. This is not a song that you want get out of your head. You want to try and feel this good all the time. While the radio may "play it too much" for some people, this song will be timeless. Her unique voice is infectious and makes you want to keep listening. For those narrow minded people who don't get it - Take your meds regularly, and consult someone with talent before writing a review. This is the first music review I have written so since it is from a rounded musician who was moved to make this his first music review, I hope that adds credibility to those who wonder how to give importance to a review. Thank you Colbie for delivering this song to the world. I enjoy your other songs as well and your variety of music on your cd. I look forward to seeing you live and your many albums to come.

5 out of 5 stars a beautiful and sweet little song....   March 14, 2008

Twenty-two year old sensation Colby Caillat found herself a star after hard work and great efforts in self-promotion on the famous and globally renown networking site, MySpace. It even lead to a record contract! "Bubbly" is an up-tempo, folksy little song with a simple message--Colby has found herself a man who makes her feel downright effervescent (hence, the title). This song takes me back to another time.....I feel like I am in a coffee shop thirty years ago, listening to a "bubbly" beach blonde girl sing about the joys of young love. You'll definitely enjoy this song........

2 out of 5 stars As bubbly as flat champagne   February 18, 2008

Colbie Caillat's "Bubbly" is as bubbly as flat champagne,or wine that has turned into vinegar.

"Bubbly" has struck a chord,so to speak,in that it's acoustic&a simple song. Caillat doesn't promote herself as a pop tart, thankfully, and she has potential. She has talent she can build on.

As a song,"Bubbly" is insipid&slightly creepy. The "I feel like a child now" sounds bizarre in the context of an amorous love song. The lyrics about "crinkling my nose, down to my toes" is one of those "moon/June" rhymes. "Bubbly" has the distinct disadvantage of being overplayed. Even if it were a better song,it would annoy those who like it. "Bubbly" presents a saccharine view of love. Yes,it's cheesy-luckily,Colbie Caillat has more talent than Pink&Fergie combined. "Bubbly" just doesn't bubble to the top.
