5 out of 5 stars The Bourne Identity - credits tune   May 28, 2008
Astrotrain (USA)
I heard this at the end credits of "The Bourne Identity" (very good movie btw). This tune was very catchy, and surprised to find it was from Moby, and also off the same album with another great Moby track "We Are All Made Of Stars"

I highly recommend BOTH tunes.

5 out of 5 stars Moby Reels In The Big One   May 1, 2008

Like most who love this song, this is the song that made you sit through the actual credits for a movie, in the theater, just to hear a song because you flat-out loved it. Well, I'm with you. In fact, I've sat through the credits almost every time I've watched a Bourne movie, just to hear this song (and trust me, that's no small number). And how could you not love it? Even people who don't like that techno/chill/electonica/club music vibe, love this song.

First off, the opening notes really set the tone for the song, and add to the splendor of every Bourne movie ending. It's so recognizable, and so distinct, and so original. Nope, you're not hearing this on your radio. The lyrics are very haunting and give you the impression during the verses that the singer is aching, and this is only fueled by Moby's fitting vocals. The chorus is really where you get that techno/dance groove. It has the beats and moves, and somehow works in a song where you wouldn't think it would.

Flaws? What flaws? I don't see any flaws, do you? Well, the version at the end of Bourne's 3rd outing had plenty of flaws, and the song was utterly destroyed in a laughable manner. But that's that version. This is the pristine original version.

And again, it just went so perfectly with the Bourne movies. It was like one of the most important parts of the series, because it always added major depth to every end. The whole mood of the song fits the movie perfectly. So giant kudos to whoever picked this song for the movie, they did an awesome job.

Simply put, this song has a very broad appeal. And Moby did an amazing job with it. Not only with the music, but also with the lyrics, and haunting vocals. The end result is a great musical experience not achieved by many artists. Make people who would usually hate you, love you. And that's exactly what this song does, and somehow more.
