Corey Hart put out a number of albums in the `80s and `90s but all of his success came early. "Sunglasses at Night" was his first single and a top ten hit that is his most memorable despite the fact that "Never Surrender" actually climbed higher on the charts. The song has actually been covered by three groups this past decade and appears on many "Best of the `80s" compilations.
The song itself has a very distinct sound that helps make it so memorable. The beat is steady and strong and Hart's vocals fit the music perfectly. He belts it out with feeling and great energy that delivers a punch well beyond what the actual lyrics would convey if you read the words. This song was released in 1983 but it has aged very well. If you enjoyed the song when it was new, then this is a great way to buy it and re-live the magic.
