Anything But Panic April 13, 2008 Flap Jackson (State Road, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Panic At The Disco has definatly come out of nowhere, and along their ride to rock stars, they decided they were in need of a makeover. So, they scrapped their entire original follow-up album, and made this album which is a huge change from the weirdness and darkness that followed the band before, and now, it's happy, positive, and downright catchy.
Nine In The Afternoon showcased everything the band should be, and more. It's light, catchy, vocally well-done, lyrically witty and flowing, and the production value and semi-epic feel to it all top it off. But probally the best element of the song is the fact it doesn't really take itself seriously, as the title shows rather interestingly.
So overall, a fun poppy song that would be perfect on summer radio, or for any time you're just looking for something a little more lighter on your radio dial. I love this new direction the band has gone in, and if their future work is anything like this song, their career should be a pretty fun and interesting ride.
